Conversion of an existing vessel for a new use is much like designing a vessel from scratch. Vessel still has to comply with the regulations, generally speaking those currently in force rather than when the vessel was built, stability, powering, all need to be checked for the vessel’s new role. Any changes should not compromise the practical operation of the vessel and will hopefully improve the look of the vessel.
Damien Smith design has the appropriate skill set to determine if a vessel is an economically viable candidate for a conversion and if so, the team then works through the subsequent modification process.
